The Saturday started well again with Dorset Ladies B winning 5-1 and giving Dorset a great start. Carol Llewellyn came out Lady of the Match with a 3-0 win and a 20,04 Ave. Also wins for Julie Boggust and Lorraine Woodrow fighting back from 2-0 down to win 3-2. Trina Perry with a 3-1 Win and Val Griffiths with a 3-2 win. So into the Mens B with Dorset 5-1 up. Again Dorset started well with 3 wins back to back from Wayne Ramsier, who I think can be quite thankful of his opponent missing doubles in the 4th Leg allowing him to draw level and then take the win in the 5th leg. Also 3-1 wins for Trevor Chant  and Man of the Match Carl Beattie (23.62). This putting Dorset 8-1 up. Then defeats for Chris Martin, Graham Platt (first game since 1995), Terry Prowse, Tim Poole and Steve Earley saw Dorset pulled back to 8-6. Kevin Smith (3-2), Bryan Pearson (3-2) and Thomas Chant all won their games and put Dorset 11 - 6 up, before Gorden Fitzpatrick, making his second debut, lost out for the final point...So Dorset took an 11-7 lead into the Sunday A team matches. Sunday saw the Ladies A lose 4-2, with wins for Lady of Match Cath Campbell (21.98) and Captain Sally Old. Leaving the Overall Score at 13 - 12. The Mens A started badly with losses for Rich Perry, Robby Morris and Scotty Mitchell. Dorset were now behind for the first time in the weekend. Next up were wins for Ben “Gorgeous” Ward and Tony “Lonny” Dunning, who celebrated by showering the Dorset faithful with Water from the Stage..we’ll bring Umbrella’s next time..lol. The match was now at 15 - 12 to Dorset, and John “Farmboy” Bothomley making his A debut and playing well to take a 4-2 win with a 26.80 Ave and The Man of the Match. Dorset were now 16-12 up. The Next 3 all lost, Graham Knight,  Eddie White and Nigel Lamb. Dorset managed to then win 2 of the last 3 with Tim “Cloth Ears” Clothier and Manager John “Hightower” Clark both winning. This gave Dorset the vital points it needed to gain a Draw at Devon and maintain the recent run of good form. Next up for Dorset is London, at Dorchester on February 11th/12th. Hope to see you there...Green Army!!
